In February, the SM 102 8P in offset printing is replaced by the world’s first Heidelberg Speedmaster SX 102 8P. At Kern, the SX 102 undergoes a three-month field test operation before being officially presented to the public at Drupa in Düsseldorf in May.

Like the CX 102, the machine features the Heidelberg Prinect Inpress Control system for inline colour measurement and automatic colour regulation. It is also connected to a dedicated ink supply system from Betz, which automatically feeds printing ink into the press via a pipeline system instead of manual filling as before.

A Xerox Nuvera 120 complements the existing Nuvera 288, thereby replacing the last OCÉ VarioPrint system in digital printing. Together, both Xerox machines achieve a throughput of up to 3,500,000 pages per month. The Xerox Nuvera 120 is also equipped with a binding station and a document scanner.

With FSC® certification, paper from responsibly managed forests can be offered for the first time.
