EMAS (Eco Management and Audit Scheme), also known as the EU Eco-Audit, is a system for voluntary environmental management and the associated environmental audit. The guidelines of the EMAS regulation were developed by the European Union in 1993. EMAS-certified companies commit to independently monitoring and continuously reducing the direct and indirect environmental impacts of their production. The requirements for fulfilling the ISO 14001 environmental management standard are also part of EMAS and are met with EMAS certification.
Since 2014, the environmental management system according to EMAS III has been implemented at Kern. Together with the ISO 9001 quality management system, it forms our Integrated Management System (IMS). As part of the sustainable development of our company on economic, social, and ecological levels, we take measures to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions to be climate-compatible by 2035.

Environmental statement
Our environmental statement transparently documents all environmentally relevant data and activities. This includes general waste avoidance and separation, with a particular focus on reducing paper waste, as well as energy and water consumption.
We ensure that all Kern GmbH employees comply with legal regulations and environmental targets, while also incorporating our suppliers into the assessment. Through regular training and critical analysis of our workflows, we aim to optimize our environmental performance through a continuous improvement process (CIP) in the medium and long term.
